Craig Connal KC
Craig was a litigation partner for a major law firm for over 40 years, specialising in advocacy and appearing in a wide variety of tribunals, courts and inquiries, often in ground-breaking reported cases. He was appointed as Scotland’s first Solicitor-Advocate QC in 2002, was Solicitor-Advocate of the Year in England and Wales in 2012 and was the first Solicitor-Advocate to lead a civil appeal in the Supreme Court. Between 2004 and 2022 he chaired the Law Society Civil Rights of Audience Training Course.
Craig sits as an arbitrator and is a member of arbitration panels in several parts of the world. In addition, he is a NITA-qualified advocacy trainer, has been consulted on legislative reform, has worked as a university external examiner and more recently as a guest lecturer. Craig writes regularly on a variety of legal topics and was UK Chairman of the British Irish Commercial Bar Association 2019-2022. He is a law graduate of the University of Glasgow.
