Direction on closing submissions issued

Lord Brodie, Chair of the Scottish Hospitals Inquiry, issued Direction 4 on Closing Statements on the final day of the hearing commencing 20 September 2021.
Direction 4 explains the process of submitting closing statements; Counsel to the Inquiry will submit a closing statement no later than 03 December 2021. This will be sent to legal representatives of core participants with leave to appear at the hearing commencing 20 September. It will also be published on the Inquiry's website.
Legal representatives of core participants will then be invited to put forward their closing submissions no later than 17 December 2021. These will also be made available on our website.
